Sandra Zimmer is being recognized by Toastmasters District 56 as The 2011 Communicator of the Year.

Each year the District Governors of Toastmasters honor someone from the Houston community who has made a significant contribution to public speaking. Past honorees have been local newscasters such as Jerome Gray.

Sandra will accept her honor on May 14, 2011 at the Spring Toastmasters Conference. In addition, she will present a one-hour talk on transforming stage fright and fear of public speaking. Her talk will be titled "It's Your Time to Shine: How to Overcome Fear of Public Speaking, Develop Authentic Presence and Speak from Your Heart."
